J’can gets 4-yr sentence for bank robbery

A Jamaican drummer in London has been sentenced to four years in prison in connection with a bank robbery.
Steve Washington, 46, pleaded guilty to holding up a branch of Lloyds Bank in July.
Washington, whose real name is Steve Tate, reportedly entered the bank waving a gift-wrapped music-stand that he tried to pass off as a gun.
He also told the bank staff that he had a bomb strapped to his body and would detonate it if they did not follow his directions.
<span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">The London Times reported that after stealing about 2,200 British Pounds, Washington rode away on a bicycle</span>.
He was arrested after a witness saw him stuffing the money into his pockets on a nearby beach.
It is reported that he had hoped to pay off a &#8356;700 drug debt, as well as his rent.
